Job summary

Ethereum Technologies in Houston, TX is seeking a Data Engineer - Data Modeler to design and maintain enterprise-grade data models supporting analytics and mission-critical business processes. The role focuses on translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical models across Oracle environments.

You will leverage Erwin Data Modeler with advanced SQL skills, work with 3NF transactional designs and star/snowflake dimensional models, and ensure robust DDL across our data

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data modeling, data architecture, or database design.
• Expert with Erwin Data Modeler 9.x+ incl. model templates, DDL, forward/reverse engineering, versioning.
• Advanced SQL with Oracle (11g/12c/19c/21c), schema design and tuning.
• Experience modeling both 3NF transactional and star/snowflake dimensional models.
• Strong DDL skills: tables, indexes, constraints, sequences, synonyms, materialized views.

Job Description:

• 5 or more years of hands‑on experience in data modeling, data architecture, or database design roles.
• Expert proficiency with Erwin Data Modeler (version 9.x or higher preferred) – including subject areas, model templates, DDL generation, forward/reverse engineering, model versioning, and complete compare functionality.
• Advanced SQL skills and deep understanding of Oracle (11g/12c/19c/21c) including SQL, PL/SQL, schema design, and performance tuning fundamentals as they relate to data model design.
• Demonstrated experience building both normalized (3NF) transactional models and dimensional models (star/snowflake) for reporting and analytics.
• Strong command of DDL – creating and modifying tables, indexes, constraints, sequences, synonyms, and materialized views.
• We are seeking a Data Modeler with deep expertise in Oracle database platforms and Erwin data modeling to design, govern, and evolve enterprise data models that support mission‑critical business processes. This role is responsible for translating business and analytical requirements into robust conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and for ensuring those models are implemented consistently across our Oracle environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of the Data Modeler include designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise‑grade data models that support critical business initiatives, analytics, and operational systems

Nice to have skills:

• Experience in a regulated industry (utilities, financial services, insurance, healthcare) with associated data governance and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with additional modeling or metadata tools (e.g., ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, Collibra, Alation).
• Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) and hybrid on‑prem/cloud modeling scenarios.
• Working knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data integration patterns.
• Experience supporting master data management (MDM) or data governance initiatives.
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
