Job summary

Tier4 Group is seeking a Data Engineer in Atlanta to build and optimize data pipelines that deliver reliable data for reporting and analytics. This hands-on role focuses on data ingestion, transformation, quality, and scalable architecture to support business decision-making.

You will write and optimize SQL, develop ETL/ELT processes, validate data, and collaborate with stakeholders to integrate new sources and improve data models.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL development skills with complex queries.
• Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehouse technologies.
• Experience with data ingestion, integration, and transformation processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance ETL/ELT data pipelines
• Write and optimize SQL queries for transformation, validation, and analysis
• Build and maintain transformation layers that support scalable data models
• Create and manage source definitions, dependencies, testing frameworks, and documentation for data assets
• Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot ingestion, performance, and quality issues
• Investigate root causes of data discrepancies, schema changes, and integration failures
• Perform data validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Support onboarding and integration of new source systems into the enterprise data platform
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve data architecture, performance, and scalability
• Contribute to standards, best practices, and documentation across the data environment
