Job summary

Delta Defense, LLC is seeking a Data Engineer to turn complex data into clear insights, support the Enterprise Data Warehouse, and enable accessible KPIs and reporting across the business. You will build reliable data solutions, collaborate with the Data Architecture team, and ensure data quality and governance.

The role requires 2–5 years in data engineering or BI, strong SQL, Python, and AWS (S3/EMR) skills, and a focus on scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science/Analytics, statistics, or equivalent relevant experience
• 2-5 years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles
• 3-5 years of SQL experience
• Ability to work efficiently within AWS cloud technologies such as S3, EMR preferred
• 1+ years experience in Agile SDLC
• 1+ years dbt experience preferred
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies
• Proficiency with Python and scripting languages preferred
• Solid understanding of industry standard analytical modeling techniques
• Demonstrates the Core Values of Delta Defense, LLC

Responsibilities

• Work within systems and infrastructures that collect and process data to create clean, tested datasets ready for analysis.
• Contribute to standards for data transformations and formats.
• Support data quality by maintaining data profiling methodologies.
• Maintain CI/CD, unit testing, performance testing and optimization practices.
• Collaborate with Data Architecture to ensure data model quality.
• Handle data housekeeping, cleansing, normalization, hashing, and data model changes.
• Analyze data to spot anomalies and trends.
• Troubleshoot problems and provide solutions.
• Understand and apply best practices related to PII and risk policies.
• All other duties as assigned.
