Job summary

KellyMitchell is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize large-scale data platforms. The role focuses on scalable pipelines, cloud infrastructure in AWS, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of data engineering experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and hands-on AWS and big data tech like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and data warehousing platforms. This is a 6+ month contract, with Plano, TX preferred and remote considered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• Strong programming experience with Python.
• Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, and/or Kafka.
• Experience working with Databricks, Snowflake, and Redshift.
• Experience building and supporting large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and data architecture principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Build and optimize data solutions using Python and SQL.
• Develop and manage cloud-based data architecture within AWS environments.
• Work with big data technologies including Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
• Design and maintain data models, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Utilize Databricks, Snowflake, and Redshift to support analytics and reporting initiatives.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
• Monitor data quality, performance, and reliability across platforms.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and scalability.
