Job summary

Goldman Sachs invites a senior Data Engineer to join the Embed Data Analytics team within Internal Audit in New York. You will build data-centric solutions, automate audit testing, and collaborate with auditors to improve control testing through scalable analytics.

The role requires strong SQL, programming experience in Python/Java/C++, and knowledge of data governance, with experience using visualization tools to present findings clearly.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a technical role with a strong foundation in computer science, math, or statistics.
• Solid SQL/RDBMS experience and data governance exposure.
• Proficiency in Python/Java (and C++ in some teams) for data analysis and tooling.
• Ability to communicate complex results clearly to auditors and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform data modeling, data engineering, and data governance for audits.
• Develop reusable analytical tools and automate audit testing workflows.
• Collaborate with audit teams to source data and build data-centric solutions.
• Create production-ready analytics using Tableau/Spotfire/QlikView and ETL processes.
• Document data quality measures and validation narratives for controls.
