Job summary

David is hiring a Data Engineer in New York City to co-own its data infrastructure and build AI-powered workflows. You will transform operational data from ERP, Shopify, and other platforms into reliable pipelines and trusted data models for cross-functional reporting and analytics.

You will design ETL pipelines, develop dbt models, and collaborate with Finance, Retail, and Supply Chain to set data standards. This is a hands-on, full-time role, based in NYC with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar technical roles.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills; ability to design clean, well-documented models from ERP/operational data.
• Production experience with dbt and a cloud data warehouse.
• Proficiency in Python for pipelines, automation, and data workflows; writing clean, tested code.
• Working fluency with modern AI tooling.
• Nice to have: TypeScript and full-stack experience (Next.js/React).
• Experience with ERP, supply chain, or CPG data.
• Ability to work independently and communicate priorities clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines from source systems into BigQuery with testing, monitoring, and data quality checks.
• Develop canonical dbt models spanning sales, inventory, fulfillment, financials, and S&OP data.
• Collaborate with Finance, Retail, Supply Chain, and Growth to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Co-own semantic layer and BI tooling (Omni, Looker) including metric definitions and reporting foundations.
• Design AI-powered workflows for data parsing, extraction, and enrichment in pipelines.
• Establish evaluation frameworks and human-in-the-loop patterns for AI outputs.
