Job description

Why join our Strategy & Innovation Team?

This is not a traditional data engineering role.

You’ll be joining a newly created Strategy & Innovation team at a pivotal moment in its journey. As one of the early members of the group, you’ll won’t just be executing a roadmap, you’ll help shape it. From defining how data supports strategic decision‑making to enabling new AI‑driven capabilities, your work will directly influence how the organization grows and innovates.

The team combines the energy and agility of a startup environment with the resources, scale, and long‑term commitment of an established company. You'll work alongside ambitious professionals who enjoy solving complex problems, experimenting with new technologies, and turning ideas into tangible business impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to build foundational data capabilities from the ground up, contribute to high‑visibility initiatives, and develop solutions that will be used across the organization. If you're excited by ownership, continuous learning, and the chance to help define what the future looks like, you'll feel right at home here.

What makes this opportunity especially exciting:
  • Be part of a newly established Strategy & Innovation function with significant visibility and executive support.
  • Help build the data foundations that will power analytics, AI, and strategic initiatives across the business.
  • Work on projects with real business impact, not isolated technical exercises.
  • Collaborate with an agile, and highly motivated team that values curiosity, experimentation, and execution.
  • Enjoy the rare combination of startup‑like influence and enterprise‑level stability and resources.
What the role looks like:
  • Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest data from internal systems, third‑party APIs, and external sources into our data platform.
  • Write Python scripts and SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data following established medallion architecture patterns (bronze → silver → gold).
  • Develop data quality checks and validation rules to catch issues early and ensure downstream analytics teams can trust the data.
  • Document data sources, transformation logic, and lineage so the team and business stakeholders understand what each dataset represents.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on code reviews, sprint planning, and incident response, learning production‑grade engineering practices from day one.
  • Support analytics and reporting teams by responding to data requests, troubleshooting pipeline issues, and improving existing models.
  • Contribute to a modern cloud‑based data stack (Azure, Databricks, dbt, Terraform), building skills that transfer anywhere in the industry.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related data‑focused role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, or ETL development.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating data from multiple sources.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to data quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Curiosity, ownership mindset, and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
