Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that support analytics, AI, and healthcare research initiatives. You will build reusable data pipelines, AI-ready datasets, and complex data products enabling advanced insights, collaborating with Data Architects, ETL Engineers, and research teams.

This role is fully remote with occasional onsite meetings near the University of Utah campus; the initial 12-month contract may be extended based on

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Data Engineer who is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support analytics, artificial intelligence, data interoperability, and research initiatives. This role develops reusable data pipelines, AI-ready datasets, and complex data products that enable advanced healthcare insights. The Data Engineer will collaborate with Data Architects, ETL Engineers, and research teams to create trusted data assets and support operationalization of advanced data linkage capabilities. This role is based in Salt Lake City, UT, and will be fully remote. Candidates must reside within driving distance of the University of Utah campus to attend occasional onsite meetings and project-related activities. The initial contract term is 12 months, with the potential for extensions for up to an additional two years based on project needs and performance.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience building enterprise data solutions.
• Strong SQL development and data modeling skills.
• Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience working with healthcare data environments.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and testing practices.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, or analytics platforms.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards.
• Experience with front-end development technologies for metadata management solutions.
• Familiarity with OMOP data structures.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and DevOps practices.
