Job summary

Apptad Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer in the Palo Alto area for a long-term contract. You will design and implement data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data, build knowledge bases, and connect data across modern platforms.

Applicants should have hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL, Python or Golang, data lakes, ETL/ELT, vector databases, and cloud storage (AWS S3 / Azure Blob). Exposure to NLP and RAG is highly preferred.

Qualifications

Role: Data Engineer

Location: Palo Alto, CA / Bay Area, CA (Hybrid)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in structured and unstructured data engineering, data ingestion, connectivity, and knowledge base development. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with modern data platforms, databases, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, vector databases, and cloud storage. Exposure to NLP, document processing, Prompt Engineering, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) is highly preferred.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Expertise in Structured/Unstructured Data engineering and ingestion. Responsible for Data connectivity, Data ingestion, Data engineering and Knowledgebase creation.
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, Python/Golang, Databases, Data lakes, ETL/ELT, Vector Databases, AWS S3/Azure Blob Storage, Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Document Processing Fundamentals, Prompt Engineering, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) fundamentals.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
