Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a data engineer to develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines on the Databricks platform. You will work with Python and SQL to process IoT telemetry data from fleet devices, build Delta Lake tables across Bronze to Gold layers, and ensure data quality and reliability through code reviews and collaboration with analytics teams.

Job Description Summary

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the Databricks platform (Workflows, Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables)
• Exposure to IoT or time-series data
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate certification
• Familiarity with Azure services (Azure Key Vault, Event Hubs, Blob Storage)
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. Base Pay Range: $113,342.00 - 155,845.80. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
