Job summary

Peraton seeks a Data Engineer to support the DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with defensive cyberspace operations and AI/ML security.

You will design data infrastructure, pipelines, and integration solutions to support DCDC analytic capabilities within Caspian and JCRS-D environments as part of the Analytic Development Team. Primary responsibilities include ETL workflows, data transformation, and data quality checks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years with BS/BA; 6+ years with MS/MA; 3+ years with PhD.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala.
• Experience with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop ecosystem.
• Knowledge of data modeling and warehousing.
• Understanding of streaming architectures.
• Experience with cloud data services.
• U.S Citizenship required; DoD TS with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Data Engineer to support Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with defensive cyberspace operations and AI/ML security support.

Location: Fort Meade, MD.

In this role, you will design and implement data infrastructure, pipelines, and integration solutions to support DCDC analytic capabilities within Caspian and JCRS-D environments. You will operate as part of the Analytic Development Team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud platform certifications preferred
• 5-8 years of specific experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
• Extensive experience with React 18/19 best practices to refactor legacy React 16 code. Strong foundational skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of common web vulnerabilities (XSS, Injection, DoS, ReDoS, Clickjacking) to ensure security compliance during refactoring
• Experience using Flux CD and Kubernetes to deploy applications, and using GitLab for security pipelines
• Experience with Node.js and Express
• Experience with MarkLogic, specifically utilizing xQuery to search, query, and manage database data

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
