FNBO is seeking a Software Engineer (P2) in Omaha, NE to design, build, and maintain data-driven software solutions using SQL, Python, and AWS services. The role emphasizes cloud architecture, data pipelines, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable business value.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of experience, strong communication, and a service-oriented mindset. The role offers hybrid work with in-person collaboration three days and remote two days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong SQL, AWS, and Python experience.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and software solutions using SQL, Python, and AWS services.
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, reporting, and performance tuning.
• Develop and deploy serverless functions and event-driven workflows using AWS Lambda and EventBridge.
• Work with AWS data services including S3, RDS, and Glue to build scalable data solutions.
• Write clean Python scripts for automation, data processing, and business logic.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Manage source code with GitLab and CI/CD, following branching strategies.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Troubleshoot and debug software defects and performance issues.
• Write and execute test plans to ensure quality and reliability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives.
• Document technical specifications, designs, and processes.
