Job summary

Somerset Public Schools/Somerset Berkley Regional School District seeks a PreK-5 Interventionist and Instructional Coach to provide targeted small-group reading and math instruction, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and administrators to support student learning.

The role emphasizes MTSS processes, data-driven planning, and the integration of high-quality, standards-based instruction across elementary grades while fostering equity and professional development for staff.

Qualifications

  • MA Department of Education Elementary Teacher Licensure with a minimum of 3–5 years of elementary teaching experience; classroom experience preferred.
  • Specialized Reading certification preferred
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge of design and implementation of elementary standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment based on the current MA Curriculum Frameworks
  • Experience with tiered system of supports
  • Demonstrated success working with teachers and administrators as a Professional Development provider, team leader, and/or facilitator
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to help others and work as part of a team
  • Possesses a growth mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Experience in Instructional Technology and a 1:1 environment preferred, but not required
  • Such alternatives as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides targeted small-group reading and math instruction based on student learning goals and aligned with MA Curriculum Frameworks student data.
  • Provides universal screeners and diagnostic assessments for students as part of the MTSS process.
  • Analyzes student data to establish student learning targets and goals through the intervention cycle.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and up-to-date records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Works with building principals and the Title I Director to implement the Title I Targeted Assistance/Intervention Program and prepares assessments, plans, and reports.
  • Shares responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department, building, and school district.
