Job summary

Job description

Overview

Fulltime, benefits‑eligible role. The Trauma/Rehabilitation/Burn Data Coordinator ensures data integrity, security, reliability, and performance of the Trauma Information System/Registry database within the Trauma, Burn, and Rehabilitation Program. The position coordinates the database, recommends, plans, and implements modifications and enhancements as indicated.

Responsibilities
  • Provides injury coding using ICD‑10, AIS and other required coding.
  • Meets data reporting requirements as required by regulatory entities.
  • Maintains the integrity of the information abstracted and input into the trauma registry through analysis, updates of the data dictionary, and registry upgrades.
  • Provides data requests using applicable policies and procedures.
  • Provides technical support, problem solving and system administration for the Trauma/Burn/Rehabilitation databases.
  • Handles processes related to daily data entry, maintenance of files, software installation, provision of routine and custom reports, backup files, performance monitoring and tuning, security, and analysis of current and future system needs.
  • Analyzes health information data to prepare graphs, slides, and other materials for presentations at trauma meetings on the local, state, and national level.
  • Prepares reports, attends presentations and meetings for various hospital, regional, and state trauma meetings.
Education & Qualifications
  • Education Requirement: HIM, EMS or health care experience preferred.
  • Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Licensure Requirement: Not specified.
  • Certifications: CAISS or CSTR within 2 years of employment.
  • Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, basic data analysis, typing.
  • Experience: Previous database management experience preferred; health care background or health information management.
