Both companies collect data where automation is not possible, counting features, taking pictures, making videos, recording speech, and scanning areas for detailed insights. Their field data collection teams are spread across Europe and North America, ready to accept new challenges.
The goal of the project is to collect images of streets, main points of interest, and public areas in the United States. The project is performed on cars equipped with 360 cameras mounted on the roof that image the area around the vehicle and store the images on computers inside the vehicle. The collected data will be used to enhance one of the most popular online maps worldwide. The project will last from 3 to 6 months and will cover different data collection areas.
