Role Description

The Data Center Technician role at Arvato is a full-time, on-site position based in Atlanta, GA. The technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of data center infrastructure, including monitoring systems, performing routine hardware checks, and assisting with equipment installations, moves, and decommissioning. Daily tasks include responding to alerts and service requests, performing basic troubleshooting on servers and network devices, and ensuring that cabling, racking, and environmental conditions meet established standards. The role involves working closely with engineering, IT, and operations teams to maintain uptime, follow change management procedures, and document activities accurately. The technician also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, supporting preventive maintenance activities, and adhering to safety and security protocols.

Qualifications

• Foundational technical skills in hardware installation, server maintenance, and basic network connectivity troubleshooting.
• Ability to work with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and documentation platforms to track incidents and changes.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and maintain accurate inventory and records.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Understanding of data center best practices, including cabling standards, rack organization, and environmental and safety procedures.
• Willingness and ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting equipment, operating tools, and working in data center conditions.
• Previous experience in a data center, IT support, or related technical operations role is beneficial.
• Relevant technical certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) or equivalent practical experience is a plus.
