Job summary

Reboot Monkey in White Plains, NY is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to join our on-site team. This full-time role supports mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities and includes an on-call rotation.

You will install and decommission hardware, perform structured cabling, rack and label servers, and coordinate with remote NOC and clients. Candidates should have 2+ years in data centers, strong cabling and server hardware knowledge, and solid English

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, fiber).
• Experience with server hardware (Dell/HP/Supermicro).
• Proficient in English and professional communication.
• Familiarity with DCIM and ticketing systems (preferred).
• Knowledge of major colocation providers (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.
• Minimum 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber).
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in raised floor environments.
• Own transportation and ability to work on-site.
• Professional communication skills in English.
• Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, or similar) - preferred.
• Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) - preferred.
• Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems - preferred.
• Familiarity with major colocation providers - preferred.
• Standard tools: screwdrivers, cable testers, label makers, fiber inspection equipment
