Reboot Monkey seeks an experienced Data Center Technician for an on-site freelance/contract role in Fargo, United States. You will support mission-critical infrastructure within premier data center facilities, performing hardware installations, migrations, and cabling tasks.

The position requires 2+ years in data center/IT infrastructure, strong server hardware knowledge, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, fiber).
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Professional English communication.
• DCIM and ticketing systems familiarity - preferred.
• Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS) - preferred.
• Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) - preferred.
• Familiarity with major colocation providers - preferred.
• Own transportation and ability to work on-site.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs in raised floor environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.

Compensation

$25-35/hr (USD hourly)

Rates vary based on experience level and project complexity. Emergency and after-hours work may qualify for premium rates.
