Job description

About Nebius:

Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure.

Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI.

Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.

The role

As a Data Center Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing the IT infrastructure within our data center. This includes working hands‑on with modern technologies such as the advanced H200 GPU cloud cluster. Your responsibilities will include supporting the data center’s IT infrastructure by troubleshooting and resolving hardware issues, performing hardware and network diagnostics, carrying out physical repairs, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems. This is a shift-based role and may also require occasional travel between data center locations.

You will work onsite in our Minnesota data center location.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving issues related to IT hardware and ensuring the continuous support of the data center's IT infrastructure across all compute, storage, and networking platforms.
  • Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external contractors to address technical and operational challenges across the data center floor.
  • Installing, upgrading, and decommissioning hardware based on operational requests, change requests, and project requirements.
  • Managing and maintaining the connectivity of fiber optic cables, copper patch cords, and structured cabling in accordance with Nebius standards and documentation.
  • Planning, executing, and monitoring regular IT tasks — including preventive maintenance, break/fix activities, and routine deployments — to maintain and improve data center infrastructure operations.
  • Supporting the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process by assisting with hardware identification, fault documentation, and coordination with the DC Diagnostic & RMA team, in accordance with established Nebius procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining clear, accurate documentation including hardware configurations, troubleshooting guides, maintenance logs, and operational runbooks.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including shift leads, infrastructure engineers, and DC management to ensure work is completed to standard and on schedule.
  • Participating in shift-level technical tasks and project execution as directed by the Senior DC Technician or Lead DC Technician.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the status of assigned work items, incidents, and hardware tasks through Nebius ticketing and operational systems.

We expect you to have:

  • Hands‑on experience diagnosing and resolving server hardware issues in a production or enterprise data center environment.
  • A solid understanding of data center operations, server architecture, and network equipment principles.
  • Basic proficiency in the Linux operating system and familiarity with command‑line tools for system identification, log review, and basic diagnostics.
  • Practical experience working with server IT hardware, enterprise‑grade network switches, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Proficiency with standard documentation and productivity tools including spreadsheets, with the ability to maintain logs, records, and operational reports.
  • A proactive, responsible, and quality‑focused approach to work with a strong commitment to safety and process adherence.

Core Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods, typically four or more consecutive hours during active shift operations.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, and heavier loads with appropriate team‑lift protocols or mechanical aids.
  • Comfortable working at heights including ascending and descending ladders, raised platform equipment, and elevated data center infrastructure.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as under raised floors, within enclosed rack enclosures, and in cable management pathways.
  • Comfortable working in environments with variable temperatures, including cold aisle containment zones and active cooling infrastructure.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to handle small form‑factor components, precision cabling, and fine connector installations.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read equipment labels, small‑form‑factor interface indicators, and detailed wiring diagrams in variable lighting conditions.
  • Ability to push or pull equipment carts, server sleds, and wheeled infrastructure weighing up to 500 pounds on level surfaces.

It will be an added bonus if you have:

  • Valid Driving License
  • Project planning skills

Compensation
We offer competitive hourly rates, ranging from $30.00 – $45.00 per hour based on your experience.
