Job summary

A data center services provider is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for on-site contract work in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role involves supporting mission-critical infrastructure at data center facilities. Responsibilities include hardware installations, cabling, troubleshooting, and documentation. Ideal candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in a data center or IT infrastructure, possess strong cabling skills, and be able to work on-site. Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in raised floor environments.
• Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems - preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.

Skills

Cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a)

Server hardware experience (Dell, HP, Supermicro)

Professional communication skills in English

Troubleshooting skills

Education

Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, or similar) - preferred

Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) - preferred

Tools

Standard tools: screwdrivers, cable testers
