Insight Global is seeking a talented and dedicated Data Center Technician to work for one of our largest technology clients in Irving and Red Oak, TX. The role offers hands-on experience in data center operations, IT support, cabling, and server deployment with on-the-job training to build confidence and skills.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic hardware knowledge, 1+ year IT equipment support experience, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours including weekends/holidays.
  • Previous datacenter experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor software to process data per operating instructions.
  • Perform startups/shutdowns for racks, hard drives, switches per guides.
  • Verify grounding, labeling, and cabling per safety standards.
  • Diagnose issues, replace faulty components, and troubleshoot per procedures.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a talented and dedicated data center technician to work for one of our largest technology clients in Irving and Red Oak TX. This is an exciting role for those looking to gain fundamental experience within the IT world. We are seeking candidates with a background in data center operations, IT Support, Cabling, and server deployment. This client will be providing training to ensure employees are comfortable and confident on the job. This technician prepares, stages, sets up, and performs startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) according to specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails. Performs post-execution quality checks and verifies that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs). Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifies the cause(s) of issues, and replaces faulty components Decommissions hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance Follows procedures to communicate, report, and elevate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads

The main function of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions. Candidates must have knowledge of Microsoft office suite and a team first mentality.


Skills and Requirements

  • Previous datacenter experience a plus



  • 1-2 years experience working as a datacenter technician

  • Experience working with GPU's, CPU's, Racks, cabinets, and servers

  • good verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time

  • GPU Deployment experience
