Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technical Trainer to deliver technical training for Data Center Communities (DCC) Operations, ensuring new hires are equipped to operate and maintain AWS data center infrastructure.

The role covers designing instructor-led sessions, managing training logistics, maintaining instructor qualifications, and developing lab SOPs and scenarios across regions. The position requires a trainer with classroom management skills, knowledge of data center

Qualifications

• Experience as a trainer and ability to manage a classroom of learners.
• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of experience in electrical/mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of data center critical infrastructure systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDU, chillers, pumps, AHUs and CRAC units.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver instructor-led training sessions covering data center operations, critical infrastructure systems, and SOPs.
• Manage logistics of new hire training programs, including scheduling, classroom coordination, and lab space utilization.
• Maintain and certify instructor qualifications and perform certification observations.
• Monitor trainee progress and address behavioral or policy issues.
• Process training completions and maintain accurate training records.
• Serve as SME for lab equipment and training facilities; maintain spaces and equipment.
• Develop SOPs for lab operation and create realistic training scenarios across regions.
• Collaborate with SMEs to update training materials and stay current with data center technologies and practices.

As a Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering technical training programs for the Data Center Communities (DCC) Operations teams. You will manage and conduct initial technical training programs for new hires, ensuring they are properly equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to operate and maintain AWS' sophisticated data center infrastructure.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging instructor-led training sessions covering data center operations, critical infrastructure systems, and standard operating procedures
• Manage all logistics of new hire training programs, including scheduling, classroom coordination, and lab space utilization
• Maintain and certify instructor qualifications and perform certification observations
• Monitor trainee progress and address any behavioral or policy issues
• Process training completions and maintain accurate training records

Learning Lab Management

• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all lab equipment and training facilities
• Maintain and optimize training spaces and equipment
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for lab equipment operation
• Create practical training scenarios that simulate real-world data center situations
• Support the setup and commissioning of new training labs across different regions
• Prepare lab equipment and spaces for upcoming training sessions

Program Development

• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to develop and update training materials
• Identify and implement improvements to training content and delivery methods
• Create supporting training resources and documentation
• Stay current with latest data center technologies and operational practices
• Gather and act on feedback from trainees, managers, and instructors

Basic Qualifications

• Experience as a trainer and ability to manage a classroom of learners
• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or 2+ years of in industrial electrical or mechanical systems experience
• Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Experience with project management
• Experience developing or delivering training programs across multiple sites or regions
• 1+ years of data center engineering, or 2+ years of relevant work experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
