Job summary

Delta System & Software, Inc. seeks skilled technicians with high-count ribbon fiber splicing experience (432–6912 count) for nationwide field assignments on data center projects. You will perform splicing, testing with OTDR, fiber testing, and manage large-count fiber color coding and numbering.

Expect 75–100% travel nationwide, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work in fast-paced teams across diverse facilities. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Job description

The most important aspect of this role is ribbon splicing experience. We need candidates who have worked with high-count fiber (432+ through 6912 count) in data center environments and can speak confidently about ribbon splicing, large-count cable management, testing, and troubleshooting.

High-count ribbon fiber splicing experience (432-6912 count)

Data center project experience

OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer ) and fiber testing experience

Experience with large-count fiber color coding and numbering

• This role will support Data Center, ISP and OSP Projects in a variety of customer facilities nationwide
• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, etc.
• May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite
• When working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel toed boots.

Experience/Education

• Level 2 - must have 1-3+ years of cable installation and/or splicing experience strongly preferred
• Level 3 - must have 4-7+ years of cable installation and / or splicing experience strong preferred
• OSHA 10 certification preferred and Boom and Scissor lifts and CPR certification preferred (ability to obtain upon hire required)
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card strongly preferred
• Bucket Truck Certification for Level 3 is strongly preferred (ability to obtain upon hired required)
