Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Security Specialist in Arizona to oversee contract security forces and coordinate with Data Center Managers to implement security strategies.

The role emphasizes vulnerability assessments, incident response, vendor management, and continuous improvement across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, partner with stakeholders, and drive metrics-based security enhancements while ensuring adherence to AWS security standards

Qualifications

• Experience with Access/Intrusion control Systems in a Control room environment.
• Experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to drive process and system improvements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of a professional contract guard force and oversee vendor deliverables at your assigned site or campus.
• Track service delivery against established SLAs and elevate corrective actions to senior team members as needed.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with AWS security standards and policies.
• Interface with vendors to coordinate system repairs, preventative maintenance, and new security construction.
• Foster relationships with data center stakeholders to educate on security procedures and reduce false alarms.
• Review and approve operational work activities that potentially affect physical security.
• Provide guidance and support to vendors in the absence of SOPs or in situations that require escalation.
• Extract metrics and analyze data to observe trends and drive improvements in security operations.
• Collaborate with data center operations, colocation providers, and partner teams to accomplish operational consistency.
• Support the development and implementation of security processes and procedures.
• Travel between local sites as needed, up to 50% of the workweek
