Job summary

Control Risks is seeking a Data Center Security Compliance Manager to oversee the client’s data center security program compliance across multiple campuses. The role acts as the client’s on-site representative, maintains detailed records, and ensures safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Travel to 10-15 campuses is required, with high flexibility for short-notice assignments. Collaboration with Legal, Facilities, Real Estate, Risk Management and other teams is essential to meet

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in compliance, audit, risk management, licensing, insurance compliance, facilities compliance, legal operations, regulatory operations, or related roles.
  • Experience managing documentation-heavy compliance workflows involving licenses, permits, certificates of insurance, inspections, regulatory filings, renewals, corrective actions, or audit evidence.
  • Experience in large-scale operational, facilities, real estate, construction, data center, technology, municipal, regulated, or multi-site environments preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% with short notice.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support compliance risk assessments, control effectiveness reviews, and issue management.
  • Track and elevate compliance gaps and ownership.
  • Monitor internal policies, renewal timelines, and documentation standards.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Facilities, Real Estate, Risk Management, Procurement, Finance, Operations, site teams, vendors, and external agencies.
  • Support internal audits and readiness reviews with evidence gathering and remediation tracking.
  • Identify non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and engineers.
  • Maintain audit-ready records for licenses, permits, insurance, inspections, and communications.
  • Represent the client on-site and maintain professionalism in attire and interactions.
  • Align with contract requirements and project deliverables.

Job description

Control Risks is looking to hire a Data Center Security Compliance Manager to support a major technology client of ours. This role will be responsible for reviewing and managing the security compliance of our Client’s data center security program. This role will work closely with the client and vendors to ensure the Data Center’s security program meets all compliance requirements, as well as being able to keep abreast of upcoming changes to ensure future compliance as well.

This individual will serve as a trusted representative of the client on-site, maintaining detailed quality records, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and construction quality throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires regular travel to 10-15 campuses in a contained geographical area, often with limited advance notice.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Travel to different client sites, to review compliance operations for insurance certificates, business licenses, municipal permits, city inspections, registrations, renewals, and related audit documentation..
  • Support consistent methodologies for compliance risk assessments, control effectiveness reviews, reassessments, ongoing monitoring, and issue management.
  • Review, track, and elevate compliance gaps related to expired or missing licenses, incomplete insurance documentation, inspection findings, missed deadlines, open corrective actions, or unclear ownership.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies, service-level expectations, renewal timelines, inspection requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Partner with Legal, Facilities, Real Estate, Risk Management, Procurement, Finance, Operations, site teams, vendors, brokers, and external agencies to collect documentation, confirm requirements, and resolve open compliance items.
  • Support internal audits and readiness reviews by gathering evidence, validating records, preparing responses, tracking findings, and ensuring remediation actions are completed.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready records for licenses, permits, insurance documentation, inspection results, corrective actions, renewal evidence, and compliance communications.
  • Work closely with contractors, engineers, and other inspectors to resolve issues.
  • Maintain professionalism in attire and communication during all time on site and in meetings.
  • Represent the Client in alignment with contract requirements and project deliverables.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of experience in compliance, audit, risk management, licensing, insurance compliance, facilities compliance, legal operations, regulatory operations, or related roles.
  • Experience managing documentation-heavy compliance workflows involving licenses, permits, certificates of insurance, inspections, regulatory filings, renewals, corrective actions, or audit evidence.
  • Experience supporting large-scale operational, facilities, real estate, construction, data center, technology, municipal, regulated, or multi-site environments is preferred.
  • Must be adept at working independently and engaging productively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify quality risks, installation defects, incomplete work, and documentation gaps before they affect commissioning or operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the written and oral communication skills necessary to build relationships and positively influence decision-making.
  • Works iteratively, delivering quickly and frequently to produce high-quality documents and outputs which require little to no rework.
  • Strong critical thinking skills that enable problem solving and understanding complex, dynamic issues.
  • Track record of having earned the trust of leadership by challenging norms, upgrading team performance, enabling growth, improving efficiency, and leading individuals without having any authority over them.
  • Possess the proven ability to think outside of the box, challenge industry norms and adapt quickly to evolving requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% with a moments notice in region.

The base salary range for this position is $140,000-150,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
