Job summary

Pogue Construction is seeking a QA/QC Manager for Data Centers / Mission Critical to lead quality assurance and control on complex data center projects in the United States. This role ensures that critical MEP systems are installed per contract documents, owner standards, and commissioning specs, partnering with field leadership and owners to drive quality and successful system turnover.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mission critical construction methodologies.
• Knowledge of commissioning processes and turnover requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret complex MEP drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
• Working knowledge of ANSI, NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEEE, Uptime Institute, and owner-specific standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience managing quality on large-scale MEP-intensive projects.
• Exceptional documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with owners, commissioning agents, design teams, and trade partners.
• Strong leadership presence in the field.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and right-first-time execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce the Project Quality Management Plan.
• Establish quality standards and inspection processes for all trades, with special emphasis on critical MEP systems.
• Lead preparatory meetings, first-work inspections, and quality audits for major scopes of work.
• Review and track shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, commissioning specifications, and owner standards for quality compliance.
• Collaborate closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, MEP Coordinators, VDC teams, and Commissioning Agents.
• Perform routine field inspections to verify installation quality and specification compliance.
• Identify quality deficiencies early and ensure corrective actions are implemented prior to system testing.
• Develop and maintain project punch lists, deficiency logs, and quality trend reports.
• Verify completion of quality inspections required before equipment startup and commissioning activities.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and establish accountability measures.
• Ensure all testing procedures comply with project specifications and commissioning requirements.
• Support Factory Witness Tests (FWT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), Startup Verification, Functional Performance Testing (FPT), and IST.
• Coordinate quality documentation required for commissioning and facility turnover.
