Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager for Global Server Operations in Fort Wayne, IN. You will lead a team of Data Center Technicians, oversee installation and troubleshooting of server hardware, and drive high-availability infrastructure across Google’s global data centers.

Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations, coordinating project delivery, and advancing safety and reliability initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 5+ years experience managing technical, vendor, contract, or delivery teams.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules.
• Experience managing technical teams, vendor or contract management and service delivery.
• Experience working in data center environments including building and operating large-scale infrastructure, network and compute architecture and Linux/Unix administration.
• Experience initiating and executing strategic initiatives in a global environment.
• Track record of leading and improving Environmental Health and Safety initiatives.
• Strong data gathering, analysis and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Foster a collaborative team environment and communicate business priorities.
• Oversee day-to-day management of teams within data center operations, work together to identify and resolve problems, and create solutions for our global computing and network architecture.
• Demonstrate the ability to implement and drive the safety culture at the site.
• Manage the implementation of projects within the team and ensure data center-related priorities are consistent with company objectives.
