Google Inc. in Reno, NV is seeking a Hardware Operations Manager to lead a Data Center Technician team, ensuring quality server hardware installations and reliable infrastructure.
You will guide configuration, testing, and maintenance of servers and networking gear, and manage small projects within larger installations. You will monitor performance, address issues, and partner with area leads, site managers, and teams like DCOps and Security to drive efficiency.
As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will manage a team of Data Center Technicians, overseeing the quality installation of server hardware and components, troubleshooting complex installations, and ensuring the reliability of the infrastructure. You will lead the configuration, testing, and maintenance of servers and networking equipment, manage small project teams on larger installations, and develop contingency plans.
You will proactively monitor performance, anticipate potential issues, and collaborate closely with the area lead, site manager, peer OMs, and partnering teams such as DCOps, Security, and GSO‑L to ensure optimal operational efficiency. You will also foster a collaborative team environment, identify and resolve problems, hire, coach, and develop the team, implement a safety culture, and manage project implementation.
Pay: US: $138,000 – $201,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
