Job summary

Core Scientific is seeking a Data Center Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations and maintenance of HPC infrastructure in a data center. You will manage staff, ensure uptime, enforce procedures, and collaborate with IT, engineering, and research teams.

The role requires 4 years in a data center, leadership experience, and strong communication. On-site position with some travel; report to Data Center Manager and support capacity planning, deployment readiness, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree or related field strongly preferred.
• 4 years in a data center environment required.
• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Understanding of network, electrical, mechanical and building systems.
• Proficient with web-based programs; Excel and Word required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of blockchain and network equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Data Center Manager with deployments, decommissions, operations and training.
• Oversee warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, and quality control.
• Support asset lifecycle from arrival to RMA retirement.
• Record inventory receipts and deployment deliveries; manage timesheets.
• Plan deployments across capacity, power, cooling, and network infra.
• Assist with labor planning for site standup and move-in/decommission activities.
• Help set performance goals and track Data Center metrics.
• Ensure staff are trained and communicate professionally across teams.
