Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to support the fast-growing North American HVAC business. You will work on air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, industrial chillers and boilers, with factory certification through STA and safety-focused culture.

Travel may be required 10–20% to support startup, commissioning and aftermarket service. You will provide quotes, upsell opportunities and work as a trusted advisor to optimize facility performance.

Qualifications

• Member or willing to join the UA Journeymen and Apprentices of the Piping and Fitting Industry.
• Experience with air cooled and/or water cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHUs or large roof top units.
• Ability to lead large repairs, retrofits, and startups.
• EPA refrigerants license and valid driver license.

• We are looking for skilled HVAC Technicians who have experience with air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, Industrial chillers and boilers.

What we look for

Required

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.

• Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for startup, commissioning, and aftermarket services for this fast-growing business.

• Practical working experience on air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHU’s or large roof top ducted units with strong HVAC/ mechanical troubleshooting experience.

• Can lead large complex repairs, jobs or retrofits.

• Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, absorption chillers, screw chillers and/or ammonia / hydrocarbon system components

• Extensive experience in HVAC systems, (Chilled water loops, Pumping, Compressor enthalpy, Compressor trouble shooting and rebuild.

• Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, lasers, etc. of pumps, fans, Compressors.

• Able to use vibration equipment to trouble shoot compressor drivelines.

• Proficient in the operations, trouble shooting and repair of large tonnage chiller 460 vac VSD’s and medium voltage 4160 vac VSDs.

• Proficient in multiple OEM chiller panels and controllers.

• Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers startup and commissioning activities as well as aftermarket service trouble shooting.

• You will work with other local market mechanics and when necessary, provide on the job training and or will participate and be a leader in local relevant classroom training for other Technicians.

• Able to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.

• Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license

Pay Range: $36.00 hourly ratedeterminedby the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
