Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is hiring for a Data Center Logistics Specialist I to perform inventory management, asset handling, and data management within a data center environment. The role involves receiving and shipping, installation or decommissioning of assets, and using a warehouse management system and material handling equipment.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma, English literacy, and 6 months of forklift and inventory experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or better.
• English reading/writing proficiency required.
• 6 months minimum forklift experience with sit-down forklift/reach truck.
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming/outgoing hardware and inventory; tag and track assets.
• Install servers and perform basic rack/stack, cabling, and power wiring.
• Prepare hardware for deployment with labeling and configuration checks.
• Perform routine data center hardware installation under supervision.
• Respond to alerts to minimize downtime and outages.
• Maintain environmental conditions to prevent overheating and damage.
• Ensure security protocols for data center access and procedures.
• Document deployment steps and maintain accuracy of asset information.

Position: Data Center Logistics Specialist I

Pay: $27.45

In addition to the general job description below, the ideal candidate will also possess the following skills and/or experience:

• A minimum of 6 months experience operating sit-down forklift, stand-up reach truck, Electric pallet jack.
• REQUIRED: A MINIMUM of 6 months’ experience in Inventory Control to include: Cycle Count, reporting inventory discrepancies, receiving inventory, monitoring inventory levels.
• At least 6 month’s experience with a WMS (Warehouse Management System) or similar systems such as JDA, Red Prairie, Blue Yonder, SAP, etc.

Data Center Logistics Specialist I

Role Purpose:

Perform logistics duties within a data center including inventory management, asset management, and data management. Role is responsible for receiving and shipment of goods as well as installation or decommissioning of assets utilizing both the warehouse management system and MHE.

Key Accountabilities:

• Handles incoming/outgoing hardware (servers, parts, cables). Manage inventory, asset tagging, and tracking systems. Stages equipment for installation
• Installs servers (rack and stack), connects power and network cables, and troubleshoots basic hardware issues
• Prepares hardware before deployment, including labeling, configuration, and quality checks
• Perform routine DC hardware installation, including equipment identification, basic rack and stack support, cable placement, labeling, documentation, and housekeeping, under close supervision and according to approved deployment procedures
• Respond to alerts and incidents quickly to minimize downtime
• Perform maintenance and upgrades on servers including routine work, troubleshooting, and outage resolution
• Ensure environmental conditions are maintained to prevent overheating, outages, or infrastructure damage
• Maintain data center security protocols including controlling access to systems and facilities
• Ensure and protect compliance and sensitive data according to company policy and protocols

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Previous experience in a data center desirable
• Ability to utilize computer
