Job summary

NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company is seeking hands-on technicians to support data center construction and deployment with a strong focus on structured cabling. You will pull, route, dress, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling in an active data center, reading drawings and following cable schedules to ensure quality and safety.

This role requires experience with fiber, copper, and termination, plus the ability to perform testing with Fluke, VIAVI, or EXFO.

Qualifications

• Experience with structured cabling, telecom, fiber, or data center construction is required.
• Experience pulling and installing fiber and copper cabling in active environments.
• Proficient in terminating copper cabling (jacks, patch panels, connectors).
• Ability to test and troubleshoot fiber and copper cabling.
• Ability to read construction drawings, cable schedules, and work instructions.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship in active sites.
• Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, dress, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Install cabling through ladder racks, cable trays, conduits, innerduct, and other approved pathways.
• Port and connect fiber optic cabling while ensuring proper routing and polarity.
• Terminate copper cabling, including jacks, patch panels, and connectors.
• Test fiber and copper cabling using Fluke, VIAVI, EXFO, or similar test equipment.
• Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues, including fiber loss, failed terminations, and polarity issues.
• Read and follow construction drawings, cable schedules, and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all site-specific safety, PPE, security, and quality requirements.
• Work effectively in an active construction environment while meeting established production and quality expectations.
