Job summary

This is a contract position for a Data Center Infrastructure Architect based remotely, with a term of 12+ months. You will design and communicate enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions, bridging on-premises, colocation, and cloud environments while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise data center and colocation hosting architectures aligned with business requirements and operational constraints
• Architect Microsoft Azure landing zones and cloud infrastructure, including identity and access, network topology, security, governance, and operations management
• Plan for availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and operational readiness; define monitoring, telemetry, and lifecycle management approaches
• Design secure connectivity and network segmentation patterns across on-premises, colocation, and cloud environments
• Create architecture diagrams, dependency maps, data flows, and decision records to guide delivery teams
• Communicate technical solutions and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders at all organizational levels
• Collaborate with network, security, and platform engineering teams in Agile and DevOps environments

Qualifications

• Required
  • 5+ years of solution architecture or infrastructure architecture experience with demonstrated expertise in enterprise data center and colocation hosting models
  • Strong architectural knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform foundations, including landing zone design areas (identity and access, network topology and connectivity, security, governance, and operations management)
  • Proven ability to design for availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and operational readiness with clear understanding of monitoring and telemetry requirements and lifecycle management
  • Experience architecting secure connectivity and network segmentation patterns between on-premises, colocation, and cloud environments
  • Strong documentation and visualization skills to produce architecture diagrams, dependency maps, data flows, and decision records
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and influence technical direction through clear articulation of solution trade-offs
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams including network, security, and platform engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (9+ years combined)
• Preferred
  • Azure Solutions Architect certification or equivalent Azure architecture credentials
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries with strong operational rigor and compliance awareness
  • Graduate degree in technical discipline
