Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer focused on hardware to ensure firmware integrity, reliability, and supplier accountability within our Memphis data center. You will proactively identify hardware issues, manage RMA workflows, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain uptime and performance.

The role requires deep technical expertise in hardware diagnostics, vendor negotiations, and scripting for automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years hardware reliability engineering experience, preferably in HPC or data centers.
• Proven firmware analysis and hardware specs review skills.
• Strong experience with RMA processes and vendor negotiation.
• Ability to diagnose complex hardware failures using diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze firmware packages and hardware specifications for compatibility, performance, and reliability in data center environments.
• Investigate and diagnose hardware failures, including grey failures, through rigorous testing and data analysis.
• Manage vendor relationships and RMA processes, including negotiations beyond standard procedures.
• Collaborate with Data Center Operations Technicians to troubleshoot and optimize hardware systems.
• Develop monitoring tools and scripts to detect hardware anomalies and minimize downtime.
• Document failure modes, RCAs, AFR/reliability models, and RMA outcomes in a knowledge base.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for hardware issues in the Memphis data center.
