Job description

We are seeking a Data Center Facility Manager to serve as a leader and technicalexpert across a cluster of our northern VA Amazon data centers. The positionwill help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed definedservice levels of data center operations. The ideal candidate will haveproficiency in electrical and mechanical systems.

The Data Center Facility Manager is responsible for the overall operation andmaintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the datacenter, as well as the maintenance of the data center campus grounds. Theymanage Engineering Operations Technicians who maintain, operate, andtroubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment includingelectrical support equipment such as stand-by diesel generators and related fuelsystems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear,UPS units, PDUs, and wet cell batteries and associated systems. Mechanicalequipment includes CRAC units, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, andmotors. Additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role whichincludes fire suppression systems, building automation systems, and generalfacilities equipment.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and currentlypossess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCIeligibility. The position further requires that, after start, the selectedcandidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraphand satisfy other security related requirements.

Key job responsibilities
  • Execute the InfraOps vision and goals
  • Engage in improvement projects, often requiring reaching out to a variety ofsupport teams, and drive them from conception to completion
  • Coordinates daily with a multitude of third party vendors ensuring adherenceto contracted SLAs
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry bestpractices and to meet required SLAs
  • Coordinate change management resources
  • Provide weekly reports to the Data Center DCEO Cluster Manager
  • Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
  • Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absence and vacations of theirdirect reports
  • Recruit and train technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
Physical Requirements:
  • Walk jobsites in uneven terrain
  • Work at heights and from ladders
  • Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands andarms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Respond to off hour emergency calls
  • Work in a noisy environment

Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years of people management and team development experience
  • 4+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCIeligibility or above
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports
  • 4+ years of work in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipmentoperation experience
  • Experience in root cause analysis and troubleshooting or problem solving
  • Experience in reading and understanding schematics and building drawings

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon packagewill include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Finalcompensation will be determined based on factors including experience,qualifications, and location.
