Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to join the Data Center Engineering Operations team in Ohio. You will perform hands-on electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mission-critical equipment across AWS data centers.

Join a diverse team of engineers and facilities staff, supporting stand-by generators, switchgear, UPS, chillers, and building automation.

Qualifications

2+ years of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience.
4+ years of data center engineering experience.
Knowledge of network design and layout; low voltage cabling knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Create technical writing to support change management.
Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects end-to-end.
Provide on-site support of contractors and vendors per established practices and local laws.
Work schedule may include 12-hour shifts and on-call rotations; role may support multiple locations.
