Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Center Engineering Operations Area Manager in Oregon to lead on-site teams, ensure reliability of critical infrastructure, and drive operational excellence across multiple facilities.
The role focuses on managing technicians, optimizing power and cooling systems, and coordinating with IT leadership to maintain safety, performance, and efficiency in a fast-paced data center environment.

In this pivotal role, you'll be the guardian of our data center operations, driving reliability and performance while optimizing operational efficiency across complex technical environments. Data Center Engineering Operations Area Manager role acts as Amazon’s front line when it comes to hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. They will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission‑critical data center facility equipment including electrical support equipment such as stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, and wet cell batteries and associated systems. Mechanical equipment includes CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers/water chemical systems, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, and motors. Additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role which includes fire suppression systems, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. Responsible for the on‑site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub‑contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures.
The Data Center Engineering Operations Area Manager (DCEO), with be responsible for data center engineering operations within an Amazon Data Center including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
