Centene is seeking a Data Center Operations Associate in Columbus, OH. You will deploy data center technologies, install and decommission enterprise servers, and troubleshoot hardware and networking infrastructure.

The role includes monitoring SEIM, racking equipment, updating SOPs, and supporting inventory control. You will also manage structured cabling, power balance, and vendor coordination while adhering to change management processes.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field or equivalent experience.
  • 0–2 years of related experience or completion of Centene-sponsored program.

Responsabilidades

  • Deploys data center end-to-end technologies and tracks assets.
  • Perform hardware installations & decommissions of servers and cabling.
  • Troubleshoot data center hardware and networking infrastructure.
  • Monitor SEIM system for anomalies and respond accordingly.
  • Rack and stack equipment and connect power and data cables.
  • Document and update SOPs for data center operations.
  • Support inventory control and parts return processes.
  • Install structured cabling and label fiber/copper/telcom cables.
  • Manage power utilization and maintain phase balance in cabinets.
  • Conduct regular MEP walkthroughs and schedule maintenance windows.
  • Coordinate vendor access and monitor vendor work.

Descripción del empleo

Position Purpose

Deploys data center related end-to-end technologies. Tracks assets and cabling using standard documentation. Monitors and responds to alarms for data center equipment. Monitors and responds to alarms for the mechanical/electric plant (MEP). Completes change requests and associated tasks as assigned. Responds to incident tickets as assigned.

  • Performing hardware installations & decommissions of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of data center hardware and networking infrastructure.
  • Monitoring of security information and event management (SEIM) system for anomalies and taking appropriate action as necessary.
  • Racking and stacking of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring equipment and other equipment.
  • Rack installations to include setting racks in place, installing cables, powering up and handing off servers to internal provisioning teams.
  • Documenting and modifying standard operating procedures (SOP) for data center operations.
  • Supporting the inventory control process by tracking orders of repair parts and return of failed parts as required.
  • Installing structured cabling to include labeling and troubleshooting of fiber, copper and telcom cables.
  • Managing data center power utilization by properly maintaining phase balance in cabinets during equipment installations.
  • Conducting regular walkthroughs of MEP and raised floor areas.
  • Scheduling maintenance windows for data center deployments while adhering to all change management requirements.
  • Participating in vendor management to include: initiating & tracking access requests, acting as a vendor escort and monitoring of vendor work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
Education/Experience

A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 0 – 2 years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position. Or completion of a Centene-sponsored emerging talent program.

Technical Skills

One or more of the following skills are desired.

  • Basic Mechanical and Electrical aptitude
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Sharepoint)
  • Knowledge of Troubleshooting (Problem Solving)
  • Fiber Tester experience
  • Knowledge of Change Management

Pay Range: $27.02 - $48.55 per hour
