Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an Electrical Staff Engineering Technician for its Data Centers team in the Overland Park area. The role focuses on creating precise design models and drawings using Revit/AutoCAD, ElumTools, and AGI32, supporting deliverables that ensure resilience and constructability across complex data center projects.

Qualifications

Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Diploma or Certificate is required; Associate Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Functions in a project engineering technician capacity.
Supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables.
Applies engineering principles to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions.
Uses CAD/BIM tools to create and maintain technical drawings and documents.
Provides technical guidance to other professionals to ensure quality of outputs.
Follows BV standards, codes, and BV policies in all deliverables.
Reviews requirements to determine correct content and format of deliverables.
Begins to apply judgement in interpreting inputs and delivering results.
Performs design calculations, quantities, and estimates as needed.
Coordinates with design team to exchange project information.
