Job summary

Meta seeks a Data Center Electrical Subject Matter Expert to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. The Electrical SME will be the technical operations expert for electrical systems in our data centers, spanning maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and project oversight.

The role requires deep experience in low/medium voltage power distribution, protection and controls, UPS/battery systems, electrical testing, and adherence to electrical codes and standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years relevant electrical industry experience or electrical trade level experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or trade certification in related field.
• 3+ years relevant electrical industry experience will be considered in lieu of 7+ years relevant electrical industry experience.
• Experience in critical environments.
• Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work.
• Theoretical and practical understanding of power equipment & systems with expertise in electrical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, and fire and life safety systems.
• Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings.
• Experience in comprehending electrical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings.
• Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment.
• Ensure cross-functional collaboration between local electrical team and global teams.
• Contribute to electrical safety program for site.
• Plan, resource, author or approve work procedures for electrical maintenance activities.
• Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Oversee electrical system configurations and upgrades for system integrity and change control compliance.
• Provide QA/QC oversight of construction projects and maintenance activity.
• Lead or participate in root-cause analysis activities.
• Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers on electrical equipment and changes.
• Manage vendor relationships for electrical maintenance and retrofit work.
• Provide feedback on global electrical maintenance strategies and system design improvements.
• Travel 10-15% after onboarding; occasional travel for tests and collaboration.
