Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer to maintain, operate, and optimize critical electrical infrastructure for high-density AI compute environments. You will ensure 100% uptime for liquid-cooled and air-cooled GPU racks, UPS systems, and medium/low-voltage distribution across data center facilities.

Key duties include circuit provisioning, rack installation, and collaboration with mechanical and cabling teams during burn-in, load testing, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting of UPS, switchgear, ATS, diesel generators, PDUs, and busways.
• Power infrastructure for high-density AI racks and 3‑phase distribution.
• Monitoring with EPMS/SCADA/BMS; infrared thermography to detect anomalies.
• Experience with commissioning, load bank testing, rack burn-in, energization, and testing.
• Respond to electrical alarms, breaker trips, and power distribution issues; support RCA.

Qualifications

• Critical Power Systems: Hands‑on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and servicing UPS systems, medium‑and‑low‑voltage switchgear, isolation transformers, automatic transfer switches (ATS), diesel generators, PDUs, RPPs, and overhead busway systems.
• High‑Density AI Power Infrastructure: Experience with circuit provisioning, whip installation, smart PDU deployment, 3-phase power distribution, and phase/load balancing for high-density GPU and AI compute racks.
• Monitoring & Diagnostics: Proficiency monitoring and interpreting EPMS, SCADA, and BMS data, including alarms, transient events, total harmonic distortion (THD), phase imbalance, and load variances. Experience performing infrared (IR) thermography and identifying electrical and thermal anomalies.
• Commissioning & Testing: Experience supporting electrical commissioning, load bank testing, rack burn‑in, energization, and functional performance testing. Ability to coordinate with mechanical, liquid cooling, controls, and structured cabling teams during data center deployments.
• Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Ability to respond to electrical alarms, breaker trips, UPS events, generator failovers, and power distribution abnormalities. Experience supporting root‑cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and emergency response in mission‑critical environments.
• Safety & Operational Procedures: Working knowledge of electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc‑flash hazards, switching procedures, preventive maintenance, and mission‑critical facility operating procedures.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $120,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
