Job summary

TechPro Power Group Inc. is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Field Service Technician to support a large Data Center project in Helper, Utah. You will perform acceptance testing of electrical equipment and troubleshoot complex systems on-site, collaborating with customers and internal teams.

This full-time role requires hands-on experience with switchgear, metering, and testing tools, with a focus on safety and accurate documentation. Travel across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5+ years of switchgear installation, testing and maintenance.
• Experience with LDL, L2, L3 inspections and testing procedures.
• Proficient with secondary injection testing and PT/CT wiring.
• Ability to travel to multiple project sites across the U.S.

Description: Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Field Service TechnicianLocation: Helper, UT

TDS provides mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control construction, testing, and start-up and commissioning services to the Power Generation, Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical, Heavy Process, and other Industrial end markets.

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing company in search of a skilled Electrical Commissioning Field Service Technician to join our team to support a large Data Center project in the Helper, Utah area.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing the necessary Acceptance Testing for electrical equipment within Data Center Facilities.
• Safely use hand and power tools, metering & testing equipment, and precision instruments.
• Collaborate with internal team members & customers/ end-users to complete projects within defined timelines.
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications

• Expertise in switchgear maintenance, troubleshooting, and breaker installation.
• Strong electrical aptitude, understanding of power systems and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of LDL, L2, L3 inspections and testing procedures.
• Proficiency in secondary injection testing of breakers and PT/CT wiring installations.
• Familiarity with bus installations, meter configurations, and control wiring.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Hands-on experience with testing and maintenance tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, etc.).
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and providing technical support.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with daily reporting and documentation of work performed.
• Willingness to travel to various project sites within the U.S.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in switchgear installation, testing, and maintenance, preferably in industrial, utility, and/ or data center environments.
• Knowledge of industry-specific electrical code, regulations, and related safety standards/ protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E).

• Location(s): Helper, Utah area
• Duration: 12-18+ months (could extend)
• Per Diem: Yes, Provided ($160/day x 7 days per week)
• Mob/ Demob: Yes, $1000/each way
• Schedule: Full-time Monday – Friday (5-10's) + Additional O/T.
• Pay-rate: Based Upon level of Expertise.
• Overtime: Yes
• Start Date: Immediately- August, 2026

This job involves both indoor and outdoor work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Lift, carry and/or move up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Climb ladders, staircases, step stools, stand, walk, sit, and operate vehicles for extended periods.
