Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Controls Technician for Service & Construction of Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS in its data centers. The role covers installation, troubleshooting, and startup of controls equipment, sensors, VFDs, and related network devices at multiple data center sites.

You will read schematics, calibrate sensors, oversee low voltage wiring, and contribute to commissioning and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field with 1+ years of controls experience, OR 3+ years without a degree.
• Basic understanding of industrial controls systems, meters, devices, sensors, relays and troubleshooting tools in data centers or related industries.
• 1+ years of experience with low voltage controls, wiring, networking signals, electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform field checkouts between field devices and controllers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot BMS/EPMS instrumentation in data centers.
• Configure and test network communications between third-party devices and controllers.
• Read electrical schematics and calibration of sensors.
• Supervise low voltage electrical contractors during wiring and installation.
• Support commissioning and system testing.
• Provide red-lined drawings and update as-built drawings.
• Assist root-cause analysis during testing and commissioning.
