Job summary

MGAC’s Critical Environments team seeks a mid to senior Data Center Construction Project Manager to lead complex data-center builds in the Detroit area. This role requires local support in Detroit, with 4-5 onsite days per week, and a track record of delivering high‑visibility projects.

You will oversee scope, schedule, and budget, mentor teams, manage risks and invoicing, and collaborate with clients, A&E professionals, contractors, and vendors to keep projects on track and aligned with the

Qualifications

• 4+ years of construction project management experience.
• Bachelors, Associates, or equivalent in construction-related discipline.
• 2+ years of data center construction project experience.
• 2+ years of data center construction experience required.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• 4+ years of experience in construction project management with a thorough understanding of the building design and construction process.


• Bachelors, Associates, or equivalent experience in a construction-related discipline.


• 2+ years of experience managing critical environment construction projects (e.g., data centers, labs, hospitals).


• 2+ years of datacenter construction experience required.

What You’ll Be Doing

MGACs Critical Environments team manages the construction of data centers and hospitals with deep industry expertise. We act as owners representatives resolving issues, managing conflicts, and guiding informed decisions to keep projects on track. As a Project Manager at MGAC, you will lead incredible, resume-building, high-visibility projects.

Project Leadership

• Independently manage the full scope of projects while simultaneously managing components of others.


• Mentor and lead teams while managing schedule, scope, and budget.


• Lead project risk management, contingency planning, and schedule and budget recovery planning.


• Achieve and maintain the clients vision as a trusted partner.

Financial and Contract Management

• Ensure timely invoicing and collection.


• Identify and secure add-services opportunities.

Collaboration and Communication

• Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, A&E professionals, contractors/GCs, vendors, and other teams.


• Anticipate project and team risks; solve complex challenges and conflicts.


• Conduct requirements gathering and needs assessments.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $160,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
