Job summary

MGAC’s Critical Environments team leads data center projects with deep industry expertise. The Project Manager will own project scope, schedule, and budget across multiple teams and stakeholders.

The role includes an initial 1-year relocation to Fort Wayne, with travel support and 4–5 days on-site per week, and eventual transition to Indianapolis, IN. Candidates need strong communication and leadership skills and experience in mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in construction project management with a thorough understanding of the building design and construction process.
  • 2+ years of experience managing critical environment construction projects (e.g., data centers, labs, hospitals)
  • 3+ years of electrical project management experience, with exposure to high-voltage power distribution, substations, or data center MEP infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage the full scope of projects while leading components of others.
  • Mentor and lead teams while managing schedule, scope, and budget.

Position Title: Data Center Construction- Junior to Mid Project Manager (Electrical)

Location: Indianapolis, IN | Initial Project Assignment: Fort Wayne, IN

This role offers the opportunity to join MGAC's Critical Environments team and support a major data center project in Fort Wayne, Indiana before transitioning to Indianapolis, IN.

Temporary relocation to Fort Wayne is required for 1yr for the initial assignment. MGAC will provide relocation/travel support, as applicable, to help make the transition successful.

*This position requires local support, with approximately 4-5 days per week onsite, subject to client needs.

  • Bachelors, Associates, or equivalent experience in a construction-related discipline.

What Youll Be Doing

MGACs Critical Environments team manages the construction of data centers and hospitals with deep industry expertise.

We act as owners representatives resolving issues, managing conflicts, and guiding informed decisions to keep projects on track.

As a Project Manager at MGAC, you will lead incredible, resume-building, high-visibility projects.

Project Leadership
  • Independently manage the full scope of projects while simultaneously managing components of others.

  • Mentor and lead teams while managing schedule, scope, and budget.

  • Lead project risk management, contingency planning, and schedule and budget recovery planning.

  • Achieve and maintain the clients vision as a trusted partner.

Financial and Contract Management
  • Ensure timely invoicing and collection.

  • Identify and secure add-services opportunities.

Collaboration and Communication
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, A&E professionals, contractors/GCs, vendors, and other teams.

  • Anticipate project and team risks; solve complex challenges and conflicts.

  • Conduct requirements gathering and needs assessments.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $130,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
