Job summary

TEKsystems seeks an experienced Connectivity Engineer to support deployment, QA, and delivery of network connectivity infrastructure in a hyperscale data center environment. You will work with engineering, construction, and vendor partners to ensure safe, on-schedule, high-quality project outcomes.

Responsibilities include coordinating planning and execution, overseeing fiber optic deployments, testing, certification, and troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with design and industry

Qualifications

Connectivity EngineerBuild Critical Data Center Connectivity Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced Connectivity Engineer to support the deployment, quality assurance, and delivery of network connectivity infrastructure within a hyperscale data center environment. This role is ideal for a technical professional with expertise in fiber optics, structured cabling, construction coordination, and network infrastructure.

As a key member of the team, you will work alongside engineering, construction, and vendor partners to ensure connectivity projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesConnectivity & Project Coordination
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of data center connectivity projects.
  • Track project milestones, installation progress, risks, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate project handoffs between engineering, construction, and operations teams.
  • Assist with forecasting, reporting, and change management activities.
Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the field technical expert for structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure deployments.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and installation designs to ensure successful implementation.
  • Resolve field issues, design conflicts, and scope gaps in partnership with engineering teams.
  • Support BOM reviews, design validation, and as-built documentation.
Fiber Optic & Network Infrastructure
  • Oversee fiber optic installation, testing, certification, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Validate OTDR and OLTS test results and ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Support inside plant and outside plant (OSP) fiber deployments.
  • Ensure network connectivity infrastructure is installed according to design and industry best practices.
Quality Assurance & Vendor Management
  • Conduct installation audits, inspections, and QA/QC reviews throughout project execution.
  • Verify contractor work meets design specifications, quality standards, and code requirements.
  • Manage vendor performance, track milestones, and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Support contractor selection, oversight, and installation quality reviews.
Safety & Collaboration
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all EHS and site safety requirements.
  • Partner with construction teams, vendors, logistics providers, and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired
  • Experience supporting data center, telecommunications, network infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure.
  • Experience with fiber optic testing, certification, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands on experience with QA/QC inspections, installation audits, and field validation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
  • Data center construction, development, or mission-critical environment experience.
  • Experience with IT or IP network deployments.
  • Experience leading structured cabling or connectivity infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of OSP deployments and large-scale fiber optic testing.
  • Experience with OTDR and OLTS testing.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools.
  • Experience with progressive inspections, acceptance testing, and quality management programs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
