Job summary

Switch in Las Vegas is seeking a Network Infrastructure Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations in our on-site data center. You will supervise technicians on shift, ensure safety and adherence to procedures, and act as first escalation for network issues in a 24/7 environment.

You’ll implement policies, perform quality checks, assist with scheduling, and track performance metrics. The role requires hands-on coaching, onboarding new staff, and maintaining equipment readiness across meet-me rooms

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Background in network infrastructure, data center operations, or IT support.
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling standards, power, cooling, and fault tolerance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and layer 1 connectivity issues.
  • Experience supervising technical staff in a shift-based environment.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using ticketing and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily work for Network Infrastructure Technicians and ensure tasks are completed according to procedure.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for urgent network infrastructure issues during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure consistent use of policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Perform quality checks on completed work and address gaps in execution or documentation.
  • Support shift scheduling and coverage planning to meet operational demand.
  • Track and document basic performance metrics and provide updates to management.
  • Interpret and respond to mission-critical alerts, escalating issues when required.
  • Ensure tools, test equipment, and materials are available, maintained, and inventoried.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and on-the-job training for technicians.
  • Support interviewing, onboarding, and ramp-up of new team members.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of network spaces, including meet-me rooms and IDFs.
  • Travel locally or domestically when required to support business needs.

The Role: Network Infrastructure Supervisor

This role leads the day-to-day execution of network infrastructure operations within a Switch data center. You supervise technicians on shift, ensure work is completed safely and correctly, and act as the first point of escalation for operational issues. What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Background in network infrastructure, data center operations, or IT support.
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling standards, power, cooling, and fault tolerance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and layer 1 connectivity issues.
  • Experience supervising technical staff in a shift-based environment.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using ticketing and monitoring systems.

Preferred

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification.
  • Experience with terminal access tools such as PuTTY or SSH.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Syslog, Nagios, or similar platforms.
  • Cisco or other role-relevant certifications.
Working Conditions and Requirements
  • On-site work in secure data center environments.
  • Ability to work in non-office temperature conditions.
  • Ability to safely lift and move equipment using proper tools and procedures.
  • Willingness to follow and enforce all safety practices and training requirements.
