Job summary

Vision Technologies seeks a Lead Technician to supervise teams installing copper and fiber optic cabling in data center environments. This hands‑on leadership role owns execution from planning and installation through testing and closeout documentation.

You will work with the Supervisor and Project Manager to guide small to large projects, ensuring quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and strong customer service. Travel and flexible scheduling may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in structured cabling or telecommunications installation.
• Proficiency in copper and fiber optic installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of fiber optic terminology, grounding and bonding principles, and applicable installation standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day installation activities and direct technicians to complete the assigned scope of work.
• Review engineering work packages, drawings, and project requirements to plan layouts and execution.
• Own assigned projects from planning through closeout documentation.
• Coordinate with Supervisor and Project Manager to meet project requirements and customer expectations.
• Complete project paperwork and maintain installation and testing records.
• Follow established processes, installation standards, and safety requirements.
• Install and terminate copper and fiber optic cabling per standards.
• Direct assembly of cable trays, racks, and cabinets.
• Perform grounding and bonding of telecommunications infrastructure.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems; interpret results and file reports.
