Responsibilities
- Enter, verify, research, review, and update insurance data in the computer system to maintain current and accurate information.
- Make payments to insurance companies and perform outbound calls to clarify information and resolve discrepancies.
- Investigate automated matching system results and make corrections to system updates and file records as needed.
- Research, verify, and update the status of loan insurance information using web portals and other resources, including handling Unable to Locate (UTL) documents.
- Disburse insurance premiums through manual processes using SWBC’s computer system.
- Determine the suitability of documents for updating or commenting on loan files and make necessary adjustments to insurance lines based on reports or notes.
- Enter updates to insurance data in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to department procedures.
- Perform data processing and customer‑service functions to support the SWBC Escrow Tracking Program.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of data entry or customer‑service experience in a mortgage or banking environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of mortgage escrow accounts or homeowners insurance.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills for making and receiving calls from insurance agencies.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and attention‑to‑detail skills to perform multiple work assignments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and accurate keyboard proficiency with applications such as MS Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of general office equipment (phone system, copier, scanner).
- Ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 20 lbs., and work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, or weekends.
- Ability to multi‑task, adapt to change, meet departmental expectations, and handle repetitive work.
