Job summary

TekWissen seeks a Data Architect V in Seattle to apply advanced statistics and data mining techniques for insights from big data, including production data and simulation results.

The role collaborates with operations research scientists and economists to develop selection and assortment planning models, and to build decision-support tools that improve the bottom line. Strong leadership and communication across CS, OR, and business teams are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in commercial or web-scale system software development and delivery.
• Proficiency in one or more of programming languages JAVA, C++

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced statistics and data mining techniques to analyze and make insights from big data such as historical production data and simulation/experiment results.
• Closely collaborate with other operations research scientists and economists in IPC to develop Selection and assortment planning models.
• Interact various software and business groups to develop an understanding of their business requirements and operational processes.
• Apply the acquired knowledge and business judgment to build decision-support and operational tools to improve the bottom line.
• Identify areas with potential for improvement and work with internal teams to generate requirements that can realize these improvements.
• Provide technical leadership to junior members of the team.
• Effectively communicating with senior management as well as with colleagues from computer science, operations research, and business backgrounds.

Job Description:

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in a modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python
• Understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms
• Communication, sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills
• Proficiency in one or more of programming languages JAVA, C++

Preferred Skills:

• Expertise in one or more of the following: optimization, probability theory, queuing theory, game theory, simulation, decision analysis, stochastic models, system dynamics, forecasting and mathematical modeling.
• A good understanding of analysis of algorithms and computational complexity is desirable.
• Technical aptitude and familiarity with the design and use of complex logistics software systems
• Familiarity with inventory planning concepts - forecasting, planning, optimization, and logistics - gained through work experience or graduate level education
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
